Travel Bucket List
A travel bucket list. Everyone has one. A list of all of the amazing places around the world that would be a dream to visit. Whether it is within your own neighbourhood, your own city, country or overseas to a isolated desert island. It may be only a few places or if you are like me it is a huge list with basically every place on the planet earth.
I’m not a big fan of lounging around on a beach for a week straight but as long as there are experiences and adventures to have then count me in.
The following is a list of not so well known places to visit that have some incredible scenery, history or just plain wow factor.
I must admit that I have never been to any of these places so this is not a review, it is simply a small look into my own travel bucket list.
City Escapes
Dubrovnik, Croatia

Whether it is taking a cable car over the city, strolling through Old Town to get a feel for the history of the area or touring the amazing walls, castles and battlements that you see in Game of Thrones. Dubrovnik, Croatia should be on any true travelers bucket list.
Cartagena, Columbia

There are so many incredible things to do in this city I don’t even know where to begin.
Bathe in a mud volcano, try the local cuisine from all of the street food vendors, or check out the street art in Getsemani. This would be an amazing, culturally enriching city visit.
Huacachina, Peru

Huacachina is a desert oasis located approximately 5 hours south of the capital of Lima. It was once a getaway for the upper class but has turned into one of the country’s most visited backpacker destinations.
A picture of the town appears on the Peruvian 50 sol note. And with so many fun things to do I’m sure it won’t be hard to spend a few of those notes in this city.
Sun Escapes
Madagascar

I put this under a sun escape just because it has a hot climate. While there are some fantastic beaches such as Nosy Be and Toliara, this can definitely be classed under an adventure escape.
With 80% of the wildlife found only on this island, the animal lover in you will be happier than ever. There is whale watching, various national parks and the Avenue of the Baobabs. This is a very unique destination.
Andaman Islands

Located off the coast of West India, these islands have white beaches, clear waters and tropical jungles.
Some fun activities on the islands include snorkeling, kayaking among mangroves, and even swimming with a friendly elephant named Rajan.
The islands can be visited between October and May, with December and January being considered tourist season.
Nosara, Costa Rica

On the northern pacific coast of Costa Rica, Nosara is an escape from the noise and bustle of the city. Known as Costa Rica’s wellness capital, it is the perfect place to relax and gather your thoughts.
Yoga, surfing, a biological reserve and a wildlife sanctuary are just some of the many fantastic things to do while visiting.
